I am pretty exicted because for the first time ever Alberta is hosting their own Country Music Awards -ACMA. They are coming to Red Deer on Jan.29 our very own Andrew Joseph is gonna be down there taking in all the fun, and I can't wait til he comes back and shares how it went.

They aren't going to be very big, focusing on only 4 categories this year, but they've nominated some great Alberta Talent. I think these awards are a great oppertunity for local artist it gives them a chance to shine and share more of their music with the public. The great thing about it is that any Albertan who is persuing a carreer in country music can join !! and I know there's  alot of talent out here, I see it all the time at community events and festivals. Hopefully these awards will drive more artist to become part of the Alberta country music family.

With that being said us here at XM105fm also love to hear about local talent, Alberta prides is a segment we run every weekday afternoon and shine the spotlight on Alberta artist, plus Cal Gratton does a great job of that with Canadian Coast to Coast.
