The towns of Mayerthorpe and Whitecourt have started talks that could see a water pipeline connect the two towns.

Mayor Trevor Thain says that Whitecourt has an abundance of water and can help out Mayerthorpe, however it's not going to be the taxpayers in Whitecourt paying for the pipeline.

It's expected that the province and the town of Mayerthorpe will pay the nearly $20 Million dollar pipeline.
