As of 12:54pm Wednesday afternoon the town of Whitecourt is under a State of Local Emergency due to the rising flood waters.

The following roads are closed in the area...47 street North of Flats road, 66 street private road behind the Westview Mobil Village is closed to all traffic.

Sagitawah RV park is closed to all traffic and Westview Mobile Home Village is on a flood watch but has not been evacuated yet, although there were a number of people that were leaving Wednesday afternoon.

The flood has not affected Whitecourt's drinking water.

There is no concern at this time for the McLeod River to flood.
