Whitecourt RCMP were forced to put down a bear on Thursday.
Several people reported the bear had wandered into a garage near Flats Road.
The bear was later discovered under a deck and it quickly climbed a tree, and RCMP were forced shortly there afterwards to put the bear down.
RCMP are reminding people that this is bear country and bears usually eat most of their food late in the summer or early in the fall before hibernation.
If you do see a bear do not approach or feed it, instead call Alberta Fish And Wildlife at 780 - 778 - 7113 or RCMP at 780 - 778 - 5454.
