Whitecourt Resident Works Through Hurricane Irma In Cuba

A Whitecourt resident who’s working down in Cuba is safe after Hurricane Irma rolled through over the weekend.

Kent House is currently in Varadero and was able to weather one of the more powerful Hurricanes on record. Irma rolled through the country as a category 5 storm with winds close to 200 km an hour.

House says officials did a good job protecting the tourists.

House still has weeks left in the Country before returning to Canada.

The expected path of Hurricane Jose.

Currently, Hurricane Jose is just east of the Carribean and at a category three. Its forecasted track is expected to just clip the north coast of Cuba as a category one storm.
