Census Data From Last Year Shows Income Figures

The income figures from last year’s census in the Country were released today.

Whitecourt’s average salary for an individual is $46,000 while the median income for a household is $105,000.  8.8 percent of the town qualifies as low income.  Woodlands County’s average household income is slightly higher.

In Edson, the average salary is $44,000 and the average household income is $97,000.  7.6 percent qualifies as low income.  Fox Creek’s average salary is much higher at $55,000 but the average household is only $99,000.

The average household is Alberta makes $93,000 and Canada is $70,000.  14 percent of Canadians were below the low income barrier.

The numbers presented are before tax.
