Woodlands County is backing a destination marketing fund for the region. The idea has been floated in the past, where a small charge on bills at hotels would be put into a fund to promote local tourism.

The goal is to hire a policy, governance and marketing coordinator to work with hoteliers and other destination stakeholders.
Woodlands County is once again looking towards Alberta’s Transportation MInistry with concerns over highways. This one stems over the province’s decision to only brush some of the area’s roads just once every four years.
Rennie highlights the concerns on a more local level.
The County has requested a meeting with Minister Brian Mason. They also hope to discuss widening Highway 658, which Woodlands County officials have been hoping for now for a number of years.
