Heading into its 45th year of operation, the Whitecourt Christmas Hamper is getting ready for another busy year.
The goal is to give Christmas to those who need a little help in the community.
Last year, 227 hampers were given out, which included 285 children.
Whitecourt Christmas Hamper Committee member, Val Scott, on what goes into each hamper.
Scott says items that can be donated include non-perishable food, new and unwrapped toys, or cash donations.
White donation bins will be set up at various locations around town. Donations can also be dropped off at Re/Max on Main Street, or mailed to 47 Ravine Drive, Whitecourt, AB, T7S 1H5.
For those looking to apply for a hamper, applications are open to Whitecourt, Blue Ridge or Woodlands County residents only with proof of residency required.
Applications will be accepted at the Repeat Boutique from 11-3pm on December 2nd, 6th, and 9th, and from 7-9pm on November 30th and December 7th.
Hampers will be delivered the morning of December 16th.
