It’s looking more and more like changes are coming to Whitecourt’s recreation scene.
Phase two of the Sports Field Masterplan was passed at last night’s council meeting. It prioritizes the expansion of the minor ball diamonds at Graham Acres and shifting the soccer fields to Rotary Park.

It won’t be a cheap expenditure either, with three of the four phases north of $1.2 million. Chichak said one challenge will be figuring out a construction schedule to lessen the impact on all parties involved once the project commences.
No timelines were given as to when the changes will occur.
