Woodlands County is fighting back against a decision made by the province that has seen changes made to tax structures.
At the last county council meeting, the county received a letter from the association representing counties in Alberta. The letter indicated changes were being made to tax structures and as a result, Woodlands County would lose about $900,000 of tax assessments this year.
Woodlands County Mayor Jim Rennie on the decision.
Rennie says it will affect how they do the yearly budget now, but he is hopeful though that the province will reconsider as counties work to fight the decision.
