Monday’s council meeting in Whitecourt highlighted the growth of the community services department.
Among the standouts, the Whitecourt Food Bank and Whitecourt Transit. The numbers were impressive enough for the food bank this past year that the limit for a family has been increased from four visits now to five.

The food bank saw a decrease of about 330 people in 2017 compared to the year prior.
Whitecourt Transit saw nearly 23,000 people last year, nearly doubling their total from 2016.
