A significant crash in Nipawin, Saskatchewan Friday has left multiple people dead. A bus was carrying players and team officials from the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL and collided with a semi truck. RCMP officers would not comment as to the cause of the crash, citing the stage of the investigation.
The RCMP have confirmed multiple fatalities and injuries but have not given an exact number just yet. Mounties say that rescue efforts are still on going. One of the victims has been confirmed via a family member. The sister of Bronco’s Head Coach and GM and former Peace River resident Darcy Haugan announced he died in Friday’s crash

This is one of the hardest posts I have ever had to make. Parker is stable at the moment and being airlifted to Saskatoon hospital. Thank you all for your kind words and messages. Please continue to pray for his Humboldt family.

A number of Edmonton-based players were with the Broncos at the time. Also on the roster are two former Whitecourt Wolverines players, Stephen Wack and Ryan Straschnitzki. Humboldt was en route to their playoff game against Tisdale at the time of the crash. The game has since been postponed.
Straschnitzki is reportedly in a Saskatoon hospital alert but with no feeling in the lower half of his body.
