It’s Alberta Forestry Week and the province is highlighting the importance of maintaining forest sustainability.
Forestry is the fifth largest manufacturing sector in Alberta, with revenues of around $5.4 billion each year.

Over 18,300 people work in forestry in Alberta. While highlighting the importance of sustainable forestry in the province, Carlier says the week also serves as a reminder for people to be fire smart during the summer months.
