Whitecourt town council this week accepted a recommendation to establish an Ad Hoc Community Training Needs committee that will work to identify local training needs of business and industry.
The information and feedback collected by the committee will then be used to assist with recommendations that will support additional skills and training.
The committee will also include Norquest College, who has been working to identify the training needs of post-secondary students to improve employment opportunities.
Mayor Maryann Chichak on the committee.
Funding for the Ad Hoc committee is through the 2018 Economic Development Budget.
