Whitecourt RCMP presented their Annual Report for 2017 to town council this week, focusing on call numbers and types of calls the detachment received last year.
Both RCMP and council members noted that the number of false alarm calls is still a problem plaguing officers in the area, prompting action for a better solution.

Last year, the RCMP received 249 false alarm calls in the Whitecourt area.
The first offence for a false alarm call is free, while a second offence carries a $200 fine.
