Woodlands County Council this week discussed continuing working with the province on a resolution to copper theft.
The provincial government has documents on the issue that have not been proclaimed yet and the County would like to see them pushed along in solving the problem.
Woodlands County Mayor Jim Rennie on how big the problem of copper theft is locally.
Rennie says it is a safety issue for employees at affected companies to replace live wiring that has been stripped.
He says the working solution with the province would be to ensure only certified dealers can accept copper to make it more difficult for thieves to sell it to scrap yards.
