Woodlands County will be receiving funding from the provincial government to help in recovery from this springs flooding.
The County will receive $2.8 million under the provincial Disaster Recovery Program to help cover costs from uninsurable flood damage caused by the ice jamming on the Athabasca River this past April.
Fort Assiniboine and those living along Flats Road in Whitecourt and Woodlands County were heavily impacted by the ice jam.
Woodlands County is one of 33 municipalities receiving funding from the program that have been affected by natural disasters in the province this year.
Homeowners, tenants, small businesses and agricultural operations are eligible to apply for funding towards clean-up costs and repairing uninsurable damage under the Disaster Recovery Program.
