The Town of Mayerthorpe has started upgrade work on their Water Treatment Plant.

The Water Treatment Plant Upgrade Project is a $1.1 million project carried forward from 2017 and is included in the 2018 operating budget for the town.

A number of things are being worked on in the project, including removing and disposing of existing mechanical systems, the generator, distribution piping, pumps, and electrical equipment.

Upgrades will be made to the pumping equipment and associated piping, valves and controls, electrical controls and mechanical equipment.

Site grading, surface work, and concrete work will also be taking place.

The Town is warning residents that they may experience water discoloration as a result of the work taking place and to take necessary precautions. More information on that can be found on the town’s website.
