The RCMP in Barrhead have laid attempted murder charges to 2 people following a serious incident that happened yesterday morning. On November 28th at 7:42, police responded to a complaint of a pickup truck on fire at the Tiger Lily Dump.
The male driver of the truck was on scene and fortunately uninjured. The investigation showed that he was allegedly assaulted and gas was poured on both his truck and himself before the truck was lit on fire.
Two suspects were located and arrested without incident.
34-year-old Chastity Willie Belcourt has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and uttering threats against a person.
31-year-old Harley Rudolf Horn has been charged with attempted murder, arson, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop or remain at the scene of a collision and uttering threats against a person.
Both subjects remain in custody and are scheduled for court in Barrhead on December 11, 2018. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit, the Interview Assistance Team and Forensic Identification Section all provided assistance in the investigation.
