Woodlands County celebrated the grand opening of their new Public Works Building in Whitecourt yesterday.
The building is located at #2 Woodlands Lane, east of the Woodlands County Municipal Office, and is a larger space for the County to use for storing equipment and machinery. It will also serve as a service base for employees to work on equipment and make repairs.
Woodlands County Deputy Mayor, Dale Kluin on the new building.
Kluin says the new location is a lot safer from possible break-ins or theft, compared to their former location by the Whitecourt Airport.
There are plans to eventually expand the building, which took two years to build and cost around $4 million.
