Evansburg RCMP Arrest Two in Animal Cruelty Case

RCMP in Evansburg have now laid charges against two people in an animal cruelty investigation.

Evansburg RCMP launched an investigation surrounding allegations of mistreatment of horses, after receiving reports of starving horses on a rural property.

On January 4th, they arrested an adult female resident of the property without incident.

48-year-old Patricia Lynn Moore of Parkland County has been charged with three counts of permitting and/or causing unnecessary pain, suffering, or injury to animals.

RCMP have also now arrested a second person in relation to the case. 50-year-old Ross Andrew Atkinson of Parkland County is also facing three counts of permitting and/or causing unnecessary pain, suffering, or injury to animals.

Both Moore and Atkinson were released from custody after bail hearings to each appear in Evansburg Provincial Court on January 14th.
