Whitecourt RCMP Charge Two Men with Break and Enter

Two men are facing charges after Whitecourt RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress to an oilfield site near Blue Ridge.

On January 2nd, officers observed two suspects actively burning the coating off of copper wire cables and initiated an arrest.

The first male suspect was taken into custody without incident, while the second male suspect ran into a tree line before being arrested with the help of police dog services.

41-year-old Gregory Bader of Calgary has been charged with numerous offences, including mischief, break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in tools.

41-year-old Fernando Barrett of Leduc County is also facing the same charges, as well as resisting a peace officer, outstanding warrants, and failing to comply with probation.

Both men were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Whitecourt Provincial Court on January 22nd.
