An Edson man and a Spruce Grove man have both been charged after a bar fight in Jasper last week.

On January 27th just after 1 am, Jasper RCMP responded to a call for assistance from the bouncers of the Athabasca Hotel nightclub regarding a fight in progress with multiple people involved.

On scene, police broke up the fight and arrested two male suspects. One of the suspects resisted his arrest and assaulted an officer, causing police to deploy their Conducted Energy Weapon in order to take him into custody.

One of the males suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in the bar fight after a glass was broken on his head. He was taken to hospital before being released in the morning.

26-year-old Ryley William Miller from Edson has been charged with assault, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer.

29-year-old Michael Cyrull of Spruce Grove has been charged with assault and failing to comply with a probation order.

Both are scheduled to appear in court in Jasper on February 14th.
