Whitecourt RCMP has made an arrest after a rash of thefts from vehicles last week.

The department had received numerous reports of thefts from motor vehicles throughout the Town over the course of two days, with some of the victims’ vehicles suffering extensive damages.

Through the use of security footage and foot patrols, Whitecourt RCMP was able to identify the suspect this week.

36-year-old Justin Robert Paul was arrested without incident and has been charged with eight counts of Theft from a Motor Vehicle as well as eight counts of Mischief Under $5,000.

RCMP would like to remind residents to remove valuable objects from their vehicles so as to discourage attracting criminal activity within the Town of Whitecourt.
