Whitecourt’s Town assessor presented council this week with the 2019 assessment report, ahead of the Town setting the 2019 tax rates.
Assessments on properties in the report are effective as of July 1st, 2018.
With the slower economy property values in Whitecourt, as well as in neighboring towns, have decreased.
The average home price in 2016 was $368,300, and that has now decreased to just over $340,000.

Market values were down 2.8% in Valley, down 2.5% in Hilltop, down 3% for mobiles, and down about 4% for condos and apartments.
Numbers showed that rent was down and vacancies were up.
Commercial values were down 2 to 4% and industrial declined 2 to 2.9%.
