As the final days of the provincial election campaign wind down, UCP leader Jason Kenney made a brief stop in Whitecourt Saturday evening.
On his way down from Valleyview, Kenney stopped into Boston Pizza at an event supporting West Yellowhead UCP candidate Martin Long.
Kenney gave a short by rallying speech to those in attendance.
He talked about getting the province back on track in terms of the need for more industry with oil and gas, agriculture, and forestry, getting products to market, and repealing the carbon tax.
This is not the first time Kenney has visited Whitecourt, having last been to the Town in February 2018. When asked why it’s important for leaders to come to the area, he said it’s because of the vital resources this part of the province has.
Kenney says he would next be campaigning in Edmonton before returning to Calgary for election night.
He ended his brief visit Saturday by saying that if Albertans want to see change, then his UCP’s are the party to vote for. He also stressed the importance of Albertans exercising their voting rights and to head to a polling station on Tuesday.
The provincial election is being held April 16th.
