Charges Sworn in Fatal Crash Near Barrhead

Charges have now been sworn in relation to the fatal two-vehicle collision south of Barrhead on Friday, that claimed the life of a Lac Ste. Anne County firefighter.

30-year-old Calvin Carrier of Calmar, Alberta was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

He will be appearing in Barrhead Provincial Court on July 17th.

Last Friday, Barrhead RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 33 and Township Road 574.

24-year-old Joshua Pare-White was killed when his car was rear-ended by a truck while attempting to turn onto a side road. Pare-White, from Edmonton, was a volunteer firefighter with the Lac Ste. Anne East fire station.
