In their latest police report, Barrhead RCMP say that theft is on the rise again in the Barrhead area, as police are investigating four incidents that were reported in the past week.

Car batteries were stolen from a tire shop in Barrhead and from a farmyard north of the town, an attempted theft from a pickup truck was recorded on camera at a gas station in Barrhead, and computers and other property were stolen from a well site in Woodlands County on or around April 29th.

Barrhead RCMP have also charged a 21-year-old Cherhill man after he was caught in possession of a number of stolen cheques.

On April 28th, an RCMP member observed a suspicious male at a grocery store and engaged him in conversation. The discussion then lead to the male being searched and the stolen cheques found.

He will appear in court on June 25th.
