Edson Man Facing Additional Charge in Courthouse Vandalism Case

An additional Criminal Code charge has been laid against the man who allegedly drove a truck through the Edson Provincial Building on May 11th.

35-year-old Kelvin Brent Zawadiuk of Edson now faces a charge of public incitement of hatred.

He remains in custody and will appear in Edson court on May 21st to answer to the new charge.

On May 11th, police arrested Zawadiuk after a truck was stolen from the ATCO building next to the Edson courthouse and was then driven through the courthouse. Anti-Semitic writing was found throughout the building after the incident.

Zawadiuk is also facing charges of break and enter, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of truck, two counts of mischief under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order in the incident.
