Whitecourt RCMP are searching for a suspect after a police vehicle was damaged this week.
On May 21st, Whitecourt RCMP were investigating a suspicious occurrence of a person asleep in a motor grader on Groat Creek Road in Woodlands County.
Upon police arriving, the male occupant of the grader drove off and the grader struck the police vehicle, disabling it.
The suspect then abandoned the grader once it got stuck and a fire was believed to have then started near that location.
The male suspect fled on foot and has yet to be located.
RCMP and the Alberta Provincial Fire Investigator continue to investigate. If the public has any information they are asked to call the Whitecourt RCMP detachment at 780-778-5454 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
