Millar Western was recognized this week for its efforts in hiring youth to work in forestry and conservation.
Brothers Zac and Nick Wagman are riding wooden bicycles across Canada as part of Project Learning Tree Canada’s “Green Ride for Green Jobs” initiative, which promotes opportunities for youth in forestry and conservation. Along the way, they are meeting with Green Jobs employers and employees in over 30 communities.
Millar Western is one of the biggest employers for youth in forestry and conservation, and Zac Wagman says he and his brother want to get the word out about forestry jobs to as many young people as they can.
The brothers left Victoria, British Columbia on May 13th and will bike over 8,700 km to St. John’s, Newfoundland on September 24th, promoting Green jobs.
