Whitecourt’s Echo Society is kicking off summer with an event to help with upgrading their Snoezelen Room.
Saturday night, June 22, Echo will be holding their Summer Soul Event at the community centre in partnership with the Travelodge.
Echo’s Snoezelen Room is a sensory room that helps people with sensory issues, autism or anxiety have a calm space to relax in. Upgrading the room will cost about $70,000 to develop and build, so Echo Society is hoping the Summer Soul event can help.
For those in attendance, there will be a free elimination draw with a cash grand prize of up to $8,500, and multiple $100 prizes. There will be a silent and live auction with guest auctioneer Gary Meyer, President of the Oilers Alumni Association.
Echo Society’s Louise Meier has more information on the night’s activities.
For those who purchased tickets, the event starts with cocktails at 5:30, followed by dinner catered by the Travelodge at 6:30, entertainment and a dance.
