Canada Day Events Happening in Area Towns

Canada Day will be celebrated on Monday with lots of activities happening around the area.

-Free Pancake Breakfast from 9-11 a.m. at the Seniors Circle.
-Canada Day Parade at 11 a.m. in downtown Whitecourt.
-Triples Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament at 10 a.m. in Rotary Park. Pre-register your team at the Allan & Jean Millar Centre by calling 780-778-3637.
-Family Fun from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Rotary Park including face painting, live entertainment, inflatables, crafts, Kids Carnival. Kids Performer will be Purple Pirate.
-Crib Tournament at 1:00 p.m. at the Whitecourt Seniors Circle.
-Singing of O’Canada & Cupcakes at 3:00 p.m. in Rotary Park.
-Live Entertainment starts at 7:00 p.m. in Rotary Park featuring Drew Gregory at 8:45 p.m. and Trevor Panczak at 10:00 p.m.
-Beer Gardens from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. in Rotary Park.
-Fireworks at 11:15 p.m. at Rotary Park

– Free Family Swim from 12:30 to 2.
-Free Public Swim from 2:30 to 4:30.
-Free Family Movie “Ralph Breaks the Internet” from 3:30 to 5.
-Photo Booth from 5 to 9.
-Kid’s Games/Activities and a Bike Parade from 5 to 6.
-Free BBQ Burgers for the first 300 people from 6 to 7:30.
-Canadian Talent Show from 7:45 to 9. $50 prize. Register with Sarah at 780-779-0988.
-Family Dance from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
-Fireworks at 11 p.m.

Fox Creek:
-Free Pancake Breakfast at the Fox Creek School Parking Lot (Main Entrance) from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
-Parade Registration at Silver Birch Golf Club at 10 a.m.
-Bike Decorating at Fox Creek School Parking Lot (Main Entrance) from 10 a.m. to 10:20.
-Parade from 11 a.m. to 11:20 from Silver Birch Golf Club to the Derald Palmer Arena.
-Opening Ceremonies at the Multiplex at 11:30.
-Free BBQ and Filipino food samples at Noon.
-From 12 to 4, there will be cupcakes, children’s entertainment, face painting, bouncy castles, sumo suits, Marnevic carousel ride, and sparkle tattoo.
-Children’s Entertainer at 1, 2, and 3:00.
-Dunk Tank opens at 1.
-Local musical entertainment at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30.
-Fox Creek Historical Association’s annual duck race at 2:00.
-Watermelon Eating Contest at 3:00.
-Pie Eating Contest at 3:30.
-Canada Day Fireworks at 11:30 by Oasis Park.

-Edson Legion Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
-Party #1 featuring family fun from 11 to 3.
-Siesta Break with no activities planned from 3 to 7.
-Party #2 featuring Concert in the Park from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
-Musical Fireworks at 11:15 p.m.

-$2 Pancake Breakfast in the Agrena Lobby from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
-Canada Day Carnival from 12 to 4 at the Agrena, featuring games and prizes, bouncy castles, dunk tank, high strike, glitter tattoos, and a concession of popcorn, cotton candy, and other treats. You can purchase tickets at $0.50 each or buy an all-access bracelet for $10.
-Hot Dogs for Hot Donations from 11 to 2 at Freson Bros. All proceeds go to summer recreation programs.
-Loonie Swim from noon until 6 p.m. at the Barrhead Aquatic Centre.
-Free Movie in the Agrena showing Mary Poppins Returns.
-Fireworks at 10:30 at the Agrena.
