There will soon be more parking available at the Whitecourt Senior Circle.
The facility will be getting its parking lot expanded after Town Council approved a request from the organization this week.
With over 270 members as of May this year, the Seniors Circle said they are often very short on parking during peak times. Mayor Maryann Chichak says Council was happy to approve the request.
The existing parking lot will be expanded on the west side of the path to Rotary Park. The expansion will be roughly 22 metres by 30 metres, adding about 16 new parking spots.
The estimated cost will be about $5,500 for labour, equipment, and gravel and it will be funded within the Town’s 2019 Operating Budget. The project is expected to be completed before the start of winter this year.
