With the federal election campaign now officially underway, candidates have started putting up their signs and knocking on doors this past week.
Local Conservative MP for Peace River-Westlock, Arnold Viersen, is running again, looking to defend his seat.
Viersen opened his office in Barrhead on Saturday and will continue his and the Conservative’s focus on the importance of resource development locally, provincially and nationally.
Viersen says the Conservatives will look to repeal the Carbon Tax, Bill C-69, and Bill C-71, the firearms act, as well as try and get pipelines in the ground should they be elected.
Viersen says he is out door-knocking and hopes supporters join him on his re-election campaign. He plans to attend any upcoming forums and hopes to hold a fundraising event in Whitecourt.
The federal election is October 21st.
