The Town of Whitecourt will be one of many Alberta communities doing a food drive on Saturday to support the local food bank.
Members from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be going door to door collecting non-perishable food donations starting at 10 am.
Volunteer Chantelle McMullin says items should be ones that you could easily make into a meal, such as pancake mix, cereal, soup, or pasta. There is also a need for toilet paper.
People are asked to put out their bags of non-perishable items by 10 am Saturday.
For those not on the pickup trail, donations can also be made in person at the Whitecourt No Frills from 10 until 2.
