There were no major injuries after four students and a driver were medically assessed Monday following a bus crash in the Lobstick Zone.

Around 4:20 pm, Grande Yellowhead Public School Division bus W-03 was involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 753 and Township Road 534 in Brazeau County on its regular route from schools.

The bus was carrying students from Wildwood School and Grand Trunk High School. The driver of the other vehicle, an SUV, was airlifted to Edmonton for medical treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

GYPSD says families were notified of the crash as per the division’s emergency response plan, and the bus driver is being held out of service while the incident is under investigation by police and the school division.

No other details on the crash have been released.
