A 31-year-old woman from the Alberta Beach area is facing charges after a hit-and-run in Spruce Grove.

On October 21st, Parkland RCMP received a complaint of a hit-and-run collision at McLeod Avenue and Nelson Drive in Spruce Grove involving an SUV and a truck.

The truck was traveling on McLeod Avenue when it struck the SUV in the traffic circle, flipping the SUV on its side and deploying the airbags. The 32-year-old female driver and her 8-year-old son were uninjured but the truck failed to stop and fled the scene.

The female driver of the truck was later identified and has charges pending for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop after an accident, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

She was released and will appear in Stony Plain court on December 4th.
