An Alberta mother who has been charged with abducting her own children from Fox Creek this summer has changed her not guilty plea to a guilty one.
42-year-old Charmaine Annette Darnel of Whitecourt is facing charges of abducting a person under 16, assault, threats to cause death or bodily harm, and break and enter with intent.
Two other charges of abduction of a person under 16 will be addressed at her next court appearance on December 23rd.
Originally, Darnel pleaded not guilty to all six charges and requested a trial by judge and jury, but an Alberta Justice says that Darnel has now admitted to all charges.
Three children aged four, three, and nine months were taken from their Fox Creek home on June 1st, prompting an Amber Alert. Darnel was arrested 2 hours later near Sylvan Lake in her car with her children unharmed.
