Woodlands County is restructuring its organization.
The County announced this morning that restructuring has occurred in order to support the financial challenges the municipality is facing, maintain acceptable service levels and manage the current economic conditions.
The restructuring includes downsizing, reassignment, and modification of roles, and outsourcing several services to streamline operations.
Woodlands County Mayor John Burrows says the changes have been tough and the County sympathizes with the staff members being affected, but it will help improve efficiencies.
Woodlands County has cut 15% of its budget, equivalent to $3.1 million. Burrows said that 11 positions will be eliminated over the year, resulting in $850,000 in savings, which is roughly 14% of 2018 wage expenditures.
