Woodlands County has entered into an agreement with Lac Ste. Anne County for it to provide Woodlands with Enforcement Services.
Lac Ste. Anne will supply peace officer enforcement for 2020, with Woodlands County transferring the title of their two units to their neighbour.
Woodlands County Mayor John Burrows says the move is a way of finding more cost-savings in the operational budget, while still providing the same level of services to residents.
Burrows says under the sub-contract Lac Ste. Anne will provide 80 hours of service.
The two enforcement units cost a total of $84, 960 and Lac Ste. Anne will pay $70,000 of those costs over the next 3 years, reducing Woodlands County’s costs by about $23,000 annually.
