Students at Whitecourt’s Percy Baxter Middle School learned about the dangers and consequences of vaping today.
The “Consider the Consequences” interactive vaping tour is put on by Health Canada and works to inform teens and pre-teens in middle and high schools about vaping.
The tour consists of four interactive stations that students go through, with each one providing different information on vaping and its potential dangers. Activities include watching videos and listening to speakers talk about the ingredients found in vaping products.
The tour has been circling the area for the last week, also making stops in Edson, Hinton, and Jasper.
Statistics show that 25.7 percent of youth aged 12 to 18 have tried or are actively using vaping products in Canada, according to the National Institute for Health.
