A local Taekwondo artist has brought some hardware back to Alberta after competing in a national championship in Quebec.

Tara Farnsworth competed in the 2020 Canadian Taekwondo Poomsae Nationals, which took place in Laval, Quebec from January 18th to the 19th, and she finished with a silver medal.

Alberta sent 7 athletes in total. Another member who medaled was Tara’s coach who earned gold and is moving on to represent Canada at the upcoming World Championships this year in Denmark.

Tara says she will continue to work this year towards being a part of a national team.

She competed over the weekend in Whitecourt’s local tournament, which she says helps keep her on track with her training, focus, and accountability.
