There was lively discussion amongst members of Woodlands County Council at their meeting on Tuesday, as Council passed their 2020 Operational and Capital budget.
The budget includes a 15% reduction in operating costs, a cap on capital spending for projects at $3 million per year, and a 3% tax increase to help make up for the County’s tax shortfalls.
Woodlands County Mayor John Burrows says Council will be keeping an eye on expenses to ensure the budget remains on track.
The Budget was approved with revenues anticipated to total $30,797,313. Budgeted expenditures total $38,193,450, which includes $6,185,627 for Education and Seniors Requisitions and $7,396,137 (non-cash) allocated for depreciation. That leaves $24,611,686 allocated to sustain County operations.
