Slope repair work will soon be done on Township Road 590 in Woodlands County.
There have been ongoing slope issues along the roadway and the County included $850,000 in the 2020 Capital Budget to do repair work.
As recommended by LWL Engineering, Council last week awarded a tender contract to Unsurpassable Construction Ltd. in the amount of $418,798 plus taxes to do the slope repair work.
Woodlands County Mayor John Burrows says there have been previous attempts to fix the road but they haven’t stuck.
The overall total for the project, which will be started shortly and take about 60 days, is $539,790. Mayor Burrows noted that this project is over $300,000 under budget for the County.
