An impaired driver was arrested last week in Stony Plain.
On March 11th at approximately 4:30 pm, Parkland RCMP received a call from a member of the public about an impaired driver that was all over the road, almost entering the ditch twice.
RCMP located the vehicle with the assistance of the complaint. The suspect driver refused to stop for police until they arrived at their residence, at which point they were arrested and taken into custody.
The suspect driver is a 52-year-old female and she was charged with a number of offences, including impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, driving while unauthorized, and flight from police.
The suspect was also charged with a number of provincial offences and will appear in Stony Plain court on June 24th, 2020.
On an average day, four Canadians are killed and 175 are injured in impaired driving-related crashes, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada.
