As part of an ongoing effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Town of Whitecourt has now closed all playground structures located in Town-owned parks.

The closures will be in effect until further notice.

The Town still encourages residents and families to utilize the local parks and pathways, which remain open at this time, though social and physical distancing practices are recommended.

Playgrounds in Woodlands County are also closed to the public until further notice.

The Towns of Fox Creek and Barrhead also closed their playgrounds and skate parks to the public on Wednesday as well.

The Town issued their latest update in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.
