Motorists in Edson will notice some signage changes in the coming weeks at two Town intersection locations on 6th Avenue.

The most noticeable change will be on 6th Ave and 50th Street, which will become a 4-way stop.

This intersection has been identified as a problem area with low visibility and high traffic. The Town says a 4-way stop will reduce speeds as motorists enter the downtown area.

A 4-way stop will be implemented at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 50th Street in Edson.

The second location is at 6th Avenue and 42nd Street. The yield signs on the north and south sides of 6th Avenue will be replaced with stop signs.

This intersection has also been identified as a high-risk area and it’s hoped stop signs will help reduce the potential for collisions.

The yield signs will be replaced with stop signs at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 42nd Stree in Edson.

The sign installation is planned for the second week of July.

Residents who have questions regarding the changes can contact Edson’s Protective Services Department at 780-723-3178.
